Waipara Springs 2024 Sauvignon Blanc

Waipara Springs is a small boutique producer in the Canterbury district of New Zealand's South Island, and offers a different expression of NZ Sauvignon Blanc than the ubiquitous offerings from Marlborough.   The Waipars Springs district on the South Island, benefits from a unique microclimate—shielded by the Teviotdale Hills and anchored by prehistoric lakebed soils rich in clay and limestone—which consistently imparts a distinct mineral tension that sets it apart. 

The 2024 vintage continues the winery’s commitment to a clean, minimal-intervention approach. Upon opening, the wine displays an exuberant aromatic profile characterized by nectarine, cantaloupe, and kiwi fruit, underpinned by a distinct herbal quality often described as nettle or crushed herb. Unlike many high-volume Sauvignon Blancs, this bottling retains a disciplined, cool minerality that helps balance its lush, tropical fruit-driven core.
