Chenin Blanc

Chenin Blanc is an incredibly versatile grape originally from the Loire Valley of France.  It is capable of making light, easy drinking wines as well as full-bodied, complex wines capable of cellaring for decades.  These wines can be bone dry, off-dry or dessert level sweet and even sparkling and everything in between.  Today Chenin Blanc is planted all around the world but the most famous examples still come from the Vouvray district of Loire Valley and it has become the most widely planted white varietal in South Africa.
