Join us for a very special TWFE Dinner Event with Revana Estate Vineyard and Alexana Winery

Founded in 1997, Revana Family Vineyards is a portfolio of wine growing estates with a single purpose - to produce site-specific wines from exceptional vineyards. With estates in California’s Napa Valley, Oregon’s Willamette Valley and Argentina’s Uco Valley.  Each wine conveys a distinct sense of time and place.  The vision of Dr. Madaiah Revana is comprised of three remarkable brands: Revana, Alexana and Corazon del Sol. Working with the world’s top vineyard managers & winemakers, Dr. Revana provides the guiding philosophy of quality as his paramount goal and that winemaking begins in the vineyard. Bryan Weil has been making wine at Alexana since 2012.  His minimalist approach to winemaking allows each vintage to tell the vineyard’s story of the growing season. Utilizing only small lot fermentations and native yeasts, Bryan creates texture driven wines of complexity, sophistication and balance.

We are thrilled to be hosting two of our favorite winemakers at Taylor’s Wine Shop on Friday, February 4th from 5pm-7pm.  
In support of the Frankie Lemmon School and in association with the Triangle Wine and Food Experience, we are pleased to welcome Steve Reynolds, his son Cameron Reynolds, and Sam Lando to Taylor’s!  For $10 a person (payable at the door), you’ll receive a Riedel wine glass to keep and get to taste Reynolds Family Wines and Lando Wines.  Steve, Cam, and Sam will be signing bottles and sharing stories.  Proceeds from the wine sales during this event will be donated to the Frankie Lemmon School & Developmental Center.  
PLEASE park at the little white church on the North side of the Vet (looking at Taylor’s, to the right of the Vet).  Our parking lot is very small and will fill up quickly.  Please be mindful of our Veterinary neighbor’s parking places, and leave them for their customers. Ryan Hill is coming to Raleigh!  We at Taylor's have been long time fans of the Hill Family Wines, and we're thrilled to share this opportunity with you.  Join us for a beautifully paired Four Course Wine Dinner prepared by our amazing friends at Fleming's Steakhouse. 

In 1981, Doug and Darci Hill settled down on an acre of land at the northern edge of Yountville. Their children, Ryan and Carly, grew up playing in the vineyards, tending chickens, and played baseball and basketball. They also helped their neighbors grow organic fruits and vegetables for the local restaurants including Thomas Keller’s world renowned French Laundry restaurant.

Hill Family Estate produced their first wines in 2001, and today are making a wide range of highly rated wines from Atlas Peak, Carneros, and Oak Knoll.  They are 100% family-farmed, family-owned and family-operated. 

Ryan Hill is the Vice President and Director of Sales for Hill Family Estate. He graduated from Sonoma State University with a degree in Wine Business Strategies. Prior to becoming involved with Hill Family Estate, Hill worked in the hospitality business as a dishwasher, busser, food runner, server and sommelier. Hill has worked at Gordon's, Bouchon, George's at The Cove and Nine Ten restaurants. His love for food and wine developed in the restaurant business and has carried through to Hill Family Estate. Ryan resides in Napa with his family, where he continues to grow the business while celebrating his family roots of fourth generation farming in the Napa Valley.

Join us on April 28th at Vidrio Raleigh for a winemaker dinner with Bibiana González Rave of Cattleya Wines, Alma de Cattleya Wines, and Pisoni Estate!  Besides making delicious and award winning wines, Bibiana is FUN!  It's been 3 years since we've hosted her for a wine dinner, and we are beyond excited for the reunion.  If you were lucky enough to join us for our last virtual tasting with her, you got a glimpse of how wonderfully her wines have been evolving.  She will also be pouring a couple of her husband Jeff Pisoni's wines at this dinner, and what a wonderful experience it will be.

I can’t think of a better way to ring in the holiday season than a wine dinner with one of our favorite friends and most talented winemakers, Daniel Benton from Benton Family Winery!  Please join us on Thursday, December 9th at 6:30pm at Vidrio for an evening of delectable food and wine pairings and even better company.  Daniel is a native of Salisbury, NC, so help us welcome him home for the holidays.  He and his wife Kara and their son live in Napa and own one of the only urban wineries Napa.  His stories and knowledge are awesome, and his laughter is contagious. Taste their newest vintages of Croze paired with Vidrio's flavorful food delights.  
Tickets are $125.00 per person, all-inclusive.

I can't think of a better match.  Trent Moffett's wines and Fall seasonal foods at Mandolin Retaurant!  We were thrilled when Trent said he was coming for a visit. He's one of the most genuine, friendly, and talented winemakers that we know.  

Moffett Vineyards traces its legacy to the Livingston Moffett Winery, which was founded in 1976 in the heart of the Napa Valley by Trent Moffetts’ parents, Diane and John. For 22 years Trent helped grow the family winery from the cellars to the marketplace. Upon their retirement and sale of the winery in 2005, a generational transition was made by Trent into his successor Moffett Vineyards.

For 9 years his estate winery was located and functioned atop Howell Mountain above the Napa Valley. It was here that Trent started his love affair with the Pinot Noir grape.  In 2014, Trent and his wife Colleen and their three children relocated to Willamette Valley in Oregon.  It is here that Trent crafts some amazing Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, while still keeps his connection with his family's Napa Cabernet.

 Join us as we take a virtual trip to Japan and explore their intriguing alcoholic beverage, SAKE!  Whether you are a new or experienced Sake drinker, this event will be fun and educational.  We're thrilled to have Sara Guterbock leading us through an informative tasting of 4 of her favorite Sakes.  Her passion for Sake definitely shines through.  Check out her bio below.

Oak Farm Vineyards Virtual Tasting with Co-owner/Director of Winemaking,  Dan Panella, on April 9, 2021 at 6:30pm EST

Oak Farm Vineyards is a family owned and operated estate winery located in Lodi CA.  The property originated in 1860 when William DeVries and his wife Cornelia Crowe farmed wheat and raised cattle. The property has been largely renovated with great attention to its’ heritage. DeVries was an enthusiastic lover of trees, particularly of oaks, and on the home ranch, he never allowed a tree to be cut unless it was a menace. Today, many of the property’s enormous oaks still stand, along with the DeVries family burial plot.   The Panella family arrived in the region in 1936, and began an agricultural journey that ultimately culminated with the purchase of Oak Farm in 2004. As a third generation California Farmer, Dan reveled in undertaking the task of replanting the property’s 60 acres of vineyards in 2012 to fufill the vast potential of Lodi. Dan leads a talented team of agricultural specialists to build a diverse portfolio of wines made from estate fruit and selectively sourced grapes. Please join us on April 9th and meet Dan Panella!  He will teach us all about the history of their Lodi Estate while guiding us through a tasting of his classic wines.

We are elated to launch the 2018 Burly Cabernets with a Virtual Tasting event!  We have done wine dinners and in-store wine tastings with Hank from Burly for years, and this Covid-style virtual tasting will be heart-warming and memorable.  The perfect way to break in his new vintages! Hank McCrorie's Burly Wines have a HUGE following in Raleigh, and it's not just because he's a North Carolina native and part time resident.  His Napa Cabernets and Chardonnay are impeccably crafted and delectable.  Hank is full of wonderful stories and is an absolute delight.  We're sure you'll love him as much as you do his wines.
