Voix de la Vigne was established in 2015 as a collaborative venture specifically designed to deliver a classic, old-world style of Willamette Valley Pinot Noir at an accessible price point. The project is a partnership between importer and distributor Silver Triton (owner of Authentic Wine Selections) and prominent Oregon wine figure Laurent Montalieu. The name itself translates to "Voice of the Vine," reflecting the goal of letting the pure fruit and regional character speak directly through the glass.
Laurent Montalieu is considered a foundational and highly influential figure in modern Oregon winemaking, having spent nearly four decades shaping the Willamette Valley's identity. First as winemaker for Bridgeview Vineyard and then as a founder of both Willakenzie Estate and Solena wineries.
The wines are crafted by French-born winemaker Bruno Corneaux. Corneaux applies a distinctly Burgundian philosophy to the fruit, steering completely clear of new oak barrel aging to protect the transparent, delicate fruit profiles. The focus remains strictly on lower alcohol levels, bright natural acidity, and a lighter-to-medium-bodied frame emphasizing elegance and finesse over extraction or heavy wood influence. Unapologetically Burgundian in its presentation, this elegant red is crafted to emphasize structural purity without any heavy new oak intervention. The nose presents pretty, lifted aromas of red cherry, dried herbs de Provence, and vanilla bean. The palate is wonderfully juicy and light on its feet, offering layers of spiced red plum, cranberry, and a touch of milk chocolate, balanced by supple, integrated tannins and a refreshing, woodsy spice on the finish.
