Voirin-Jumel La V.1 Grand Cru Champagne

$ 5999 $ 6499

Founded in 1945, Voirin‑Jumel is a fourth‑generation grower‑producer based in Cramant, one of the Côte des Blancs’ most prized Grand Cru villages. The estate is run today by Patrick and Alice Voirin, who farm roughly 13 hectares of Chardonnay‑dominant vineyards across several Côte des Blancs crus. Their philosophy is rooted in precision and purity: stainless‑steel fermentation, minimal oxygen exposure, and a focus on expressing the chalk‑rich soils that define the region. As a true récoltant‑manipulant, they grow their own fruit, vinify everything on site, and bottle in small lots—far from the scale of the big houses. The result is Champagne with clarity, finesse, and a distinctly artisanal touch.

On the nose, this champagne opens with bright, chiseled aromas of lemon zest, green apple, and white florals layered over a distinct, cool chalky minerality. The palate is simultaneously linear and refreshing, driven by a fine-bubbled mousse and tensile acidity that are gracefully balanced by a subtle mid-palate fruit weight and a light, textural creaminess characteristic of Cramant fruit. It culminates in a long, clean, and mouthwatering finish dominated by citrus oil and crushed stone. At the table, its high-tension structure and saline minerality make it an ideal companion for raw oysters, grilled lobster, crab cakes, delicate white fish, or high-end sashimi and sushi.
