New Zealand Wine Month Sampler #1 - Sauvignon Blancs

$ 11500 $ 16200

New Zealand Wine Month
Sampler Pack #1 - Sauvignon Blancs
A $162 Value for $115

If you like crisp, unoaked white wines, then you’re probably already familiar with New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc.  The grapefruity style from Marlborough is ubiquitous and there is a common style and flavor profile that can be found in almost all NZ Sauv Blancs, yet the reality of the country's diverse terroir is that it offers a much broader spectrum of character than many realize. From the coastal, saline-driven sites of Marlborough’s sub-regions to the limestone-rich soils of the Waipara Valley and the structured, textural expressions coming out of Nelson, this six-bottle sampler is designed to dismantle the notion of a monolithic regional style. By exploring these varied viticultural zones and progressive winemaking techniques—including wild fermentation and innovative, low-sulfur alternatives—you will experience the true depth and evolution of this iconic varietal.

Sampler includes 1 bottle each:

Greenhough 2025 Sauvignon Blanc (Nelson, New Zealand) - Hailing from the Waimea Plains in Nelson, this wine showcases a more restrained and nuanced profile than its Marlborough counterparts. The fruit is harvested in multiple passes to capture a spectrum of ripeness, resulting in an elegant aromatic display of lemongrass, fresh red apple, and citrus zest. A portion of the wine is fermented in seasoned French oak, lending a delicate weight and texture that balances the vibrant, crunchy acidity and gentle flinty finish.

Anna’s Way 2025 Sauvignon Blanc (Marlborough, New Zealand) - This Marlborough selection embodies the classic, high-energy profile that established New Zealand’s reputation on the global stage. It is remarkably bright and zesty, leading with focused aromas of grapefruit and passionfruit supported by delicate citrus blossom. On the palate, the wine is clean and refreshing with a light-bodied, linear structure, making it a definitive example of pure varietal expression and vibrant acidity.

Saint Clair 2025 Dillon’s Point Sauvignon Blanc (Marlborough, New Zealand) - Sourced from a specific coastal sub-region in Marlborough, this wine is characterized by its intense maritime influence and free-draining alluvial soils. It offers a more pungent and expressive aromatic profile than traditional regional blends, featuring layers of blackcurrant leaf, fresh-cut grass, and concentrated passionfruit. A distinct saline minerality cuts through the palate, providing a sharp, energetic focus and a long, lingering finish.

Waipara Springs 2024 Sauvignon Blanc (Waipara, New Zealand) - Moving to the limestone-heavy soils of the Waipara Valley in Canterbury, this wine presents a marked departure toward a mineral-driven and restrained style. The aromatics are dominated by lime, lemon zest, and hints of nettle, reflecting the cooling breezes of the region. It possesses significant depth and intensity, relying on a robust mineral backbone rather than mere fruit intensity to carry its lively and crisp structure across the palate.

Loveblock 2025 TEE Sauvignon Blanc (Marlborough, New Zealand) - This is a daring piece of winemaking that pushes the boundaries of traditional preservation. By replacing sulfur with natural tannins extracted from green tea leaves, Loveblock creates an entirely unique, textural experience. The palate is unctuous and complex, showing layers of golden apple, mandarin, and sweet orange, finished with subtle notes of saffron, fennel, and a distinct, lingering herbal tea astringency.

Vandal 2022 Gonzo Resistance Sauvignon Blanc (Marlborough, New Zealand) - A testament to the "Gonzo" philosophy of minimal intervention, this wine explores the more earthy and experimental side of the varietal. It moves away from primary fruit punch, instead favoring a complex, layered structure that emphasizes mineral and savory characteristics. Expect a profile that features subtle tree fruit, white pepper, and an earthy depth that challenges the traditional expectations of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, rewarding those looking for something truly atypical.
