Lucien Reymond 2023 AOC Sancerre Caillottes

Winemaker Notes

The sauvignon blanc for this cuvée was sourced by Olivier from a biodynamic-certified grower and includes fruit grown on all three of the classic Sancerre terroirs: Kimmeridgian limestone with clay (terres blanches), stony limestone marl (caillotes), and clay with flint (silex). The different plots were fermented individually with ambient yeast and the wines were aged on their lees for 12 months in stainless steel tanks before blending and bottling. Vibrant layers of white grapefruit, peach, honeydew, lime blossom, and herbs mingle energetically with mineral-driven streaks of wet river stones, chalk, and sea salt. An elegant, lively, and incredibly refreshing take on a classic! Organically grown, certified biodynamic, low intervention/natural wine.
