Flat out sensational notes of blackcurrants, scorched earth, tobacco and crushed rock-like sense of minerality define the nose, and it's full-bodied, deep, rich, and concentrated. It picks up a hint of iron with time in the glass, and while it's already accessible, it deserves 4-5 years of bottle age and will cruise for two decades or more. This is another thrilling wine from this team that readers should snatch up.

The 2019 FE Spring Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon is a drop-dead stunning wine in this vintage. It is composed of 84% Cabernet Sauvignon 6% Malbec 5% Petit Verdot 5% Cabernet Franc, which spent 19 months in 95% new French Oak (Bossuet, Sylvain and Taransaud). It begins with absolutely stunning aromas of blackberries, black cherries and black plums which come together with violets, Sumatra coffee, iron, forrest herbs, tobacco, gravel and loamy nuances that all burst from the glass. On the palate this is full-bodied, well-structured and concentrated, displaying gorgeous plush layers of ripe dark fruits that continue to resonate though the ultra-long finish. The combination of mountain terroir and beautiful ripe fruit is something to behold in this fabulous wine which is utterly thrilling today, but also destined for a marvelous future. Fe wines have burst onto the scene and become one of Napa's most impressive wines.
