This wine highlights the unique Criolla Chica varietal (historically known as Mission in the United States, País in Chile, and Listán Prieto in Spain), a heritage grape planted by Spanish missionaries in the 16th century long before Malbec arrived. Sourced from a small plot of historic vines planted in 1943 and fermented using native yeasts in concrete eggs, this light-bodied wine exhibits a beautiful, low-intensity ruby red hue. On the nose, it offers an expressive and delicate bouquet bursting with fresh strawberries, tart cherries, quince, and subtle floral notes like violet, accented by a hint of peppery spice.
