Domaine Pral Beaujolais Blanc
Winemaker Notes
This is another of those "exceptions that prove the rule" wines. 99 times out of 100 when someone offers you a glass of Beaujolais wine, you would be right to assume that the glass would hold a light, refreshing red wine made from the Gamay grape. If you remember that Beaujolais is in Burgundy and the main white grape in Burgundy is Chardonnay, then this fantastic, unoaked Chardonnay won't be too much of a shock.
Hand harvested and grown on the uncommon and thrilling terroir for Chardonnay, down in granite-rich region of Beaujolais. Domain Pral has been family-owned and operated for generations and continues to be organically farmed by the Chatelus family the way their great grandparents did.
Its bright gold color and aromas of white flower, apple, and exotic fruits have a bright, clear focus that’s impossible to miss just on the nose. That’s even more the case on the palate, where its round, silky texture and lightly nutty finish throw these dazzling flavors into sharp relief.
