91pts Wine Spectator
As outstanding and sought after as white Chateauneuf can be, it sadly accounts for less than 10% of the region's production, making them hard to find and expensive. On the nose, it offers an attractive mix of ripe yellow fruits like peach and nectarine, layered with complex nuances of white flowers, a touch of beeswax, and often a subtle, smoky hint of anise or toasted almond from the partial barrel aging. The palate is long and textural, with a full, fleshy mouthfeel that is cut by a spine of fresh acidity, ensuring it remains clean and lively on the finish. While delicious now this is also a wine with great aging potential, gaining notes of honey and deepened minerality over five to ten years.
