Tasting Notes

The 2009 Nicolás offers an expressive nose of blackcurrant, plum, cedar, tobacco leaf, graphite, and dried violets, unfolding into a full‑bodied palate with ripe dark fruit, cocoa, savory spice, and a long, polished finish supported by fine tannins. The blend for this vintage is dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon with a significant portion of Malbec, combining Cabernet’s structure and aromatic complexity with Malbec’s plush texture and floral lift. Its richness and balance make it an excellent partner for dishes such as grilled ribeye, lamb chops, braised short ribs, roasted duck, mushroom ragù, and aged cheeses, where the wine’s depth and tannic backbone complement both savory and umami‑driven flavors.
