Bruce Patch Wines 2022 Equanimity Red Wine
Bruce's first career was the music business where the produced and promoted small bands in California, which eventually evolved into promoting small wineries, which naturally led to Bruce beginning to make his own wines.
The Taylor's crew has been fans of winemaker Bruce Patch for over a decade, and his wine just seem to be getting better and better. We first found out about Bruce through his Wine Guerrilla label and when the partnership behind that label fell apart Bruce kept going under his eponymous Bruce Patch Wines, which, like the Wine Guerrilla bottlings, featured the amazing artwork of his wife Andrea Cleall.
2022 Equanimity Red Blend
Bruce crafted just 100 cases of this fantastic Meritage style blend that we think rivals many Napa Valley Cab Franc blends that cost 2-3 times the price of Equanimity. Its a blend of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah and Petit Verdot from Sonoma's Dry Creek and Mendocino County. The Petite Sirah lifts the aromatics and adds layers to the tannic structure of the dark fruit and floral components provided by the Cab Franc base. Cabernet Sauvignon adds the red fruit notes and a velvety texture to the grippy tannic structure of the Petite Sirah, with the Petit Verdot adding color, blue fruit and chocolate components.
