Amapola Creek Proprietary Sonoma Valley Red

The story of Amapola Creek begins in 2001 when legendary California winemaking pioneer Richard Arrowood and his wife Alis acquired a pristine one-hundred-acre estate on the steep, volcanic slopes of the Mayacamas Mountains in Sonoma Valley's Moon Mountain District. Having shaped world-class Sonoma winemaking at Château St. Jean and later establishing his famed Arrowood Vineyards & Winery in 1985, it was the sale of his eponymous winery that provided the funds to purchase the land that was to become Amapola Creek. Following Richard Arrowood’s retirement after a fifty-four-year winemaking career, the property was acquired in late 2019 by neighboring vintner Brion Wise of B. Wise Vineyards. Today, the B. Wise winemaking team carries the torch, preserving Arrowood's legacy of minimal-intervention, site-driven winemaking and crafting expressive mountain wines rooted in the unique red volcanic soils of the estate.
