WINEMAKER NOTES
Franciacorta is Italy's answer to Champagne. Unlike Prosecco which gets its carbonation in large stainless-steel tanks before bottling, Franciacorta gets its bubbles from a second fermentation that happens in the bottle, just like Champagne & Cava. Prosecco is also made from a grape called Glera while Franciacorta is made from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Blanc, all 3 of which are used in Champagne. This elegantly fresh, vivacious and full Franciacorta has a subdued fragrance that reveals delicate floral and nut aromas. The palate is expressive, offering citrus, tropical fruit and roasted almond flavors. The happy, lively perlage (Italian for bubbles) is accompanied by vibrant acidity.
