Jo Landron 2023 "Amphibolite" Muscadet Sevre et Maine

This Muscadet opens with a pale yellow hue tinged with green, hinting at its youthful energy. On the nose, it reveals spontaneous aromas of white flowers, ripe peach, and lemon, underscored by a distinct saline character. The palate is crisp and elegant, marked by refreshing acidity and a pronounced iodine note that reflects its maritime origins. Flavors of citrus—particularly lime and lemon—intertwine with green apple and subtle vegetal hints like straw and gooseberry. The wine’s texture is clean and linear, with a dense yet balanced structure that carries through to a persistent, salty finish. Made from 100% Melon de Bourgogne grown on metamorphic amphibolite soils, this cuvée is vinified without chaptalization and bottled early to preserve its natural vibrancy.
