WINEMAKER NOTES

Puygueraud comes from the hands of the celebrated Thienpont family, who owns some of the most famous Bordeaux châteaux and make some of the most sought-after wines, including Vieux Château Certan, Le Pin and Pavie-Macquin. Château Puygueraud is considered the flagship estate of Côtes de Francs and a benchmark for this appellation’s revival. This blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Malbec, from the great 2015 vintage, shows its pedigree. Fine aromatics of dark fruit and tobacco leaf are effortlessly underscored by gravelly tannins and a superbly long and dry finish – classic Bordeaux. This is a serious wine and punches well above its weight.
