$ 9500 $ 13500

Intro to Zinfandel Sampler - Our Favorite Zins and Zin Blends under $25
A $132 Value for just $95!

Our first Zinfandel sampler of the month focuses on the incredible value found within California’s heritage vineyards and the ancient soils of southern Italy. This collection highlights the varietal's unique ability to deliver profound depth and complex spice without the premium price tag often associated with Napa or Bordeaux counterparts. From the brambly, sun-drenched hills of the Sierra Foothills to the old-growth bush vines of Manduria, these selections represent the pinnacle of "under $25" craftsmanship, offering a diverse look at how Zinfandel and its Italian sibling, Primitivo, express their distinct sense of place.

Sampler includes 1 bottle each:

Masseria Borgo dei Trulli Primitivo di Manduria This full-bodied Italian expression offers an intense ruby-red color and a sophisticated bouquet of black cherries, prunes, and nuanced white pepper. Sourced from low-yielding vines in the Puglia region, the palate is velvety and rich, showing flavors of fresh blackberry and dried wild herbs integrated with subtle toasty oak. The tannins are soft but assertive, providing a structured and persistent finish that highlights the sun-baked intensity of the Manduria terroir.

Andis "Painted Fields" Sierra Foothills Zinfandel Reflecting the rugged character of the Sierra Foothills, this refined red is a blend that incorporates Primitivo, Petite Sirah, and Barbera alongside old-vine Zinfandel. It leads with focused aromas of blackberry and black cherry, complemented by hints of wood smoke and iron-like minerality. The texture is firm and structured with moderate tannins and a bright acidity that keeps the concentrated fruit flavors fresh through a long, polished conclusion.

J Dusi Wines Model M Blend This Paso Robles red blend is a tribute to the Dusi family's agricultural heritage, delivering a robust and fruit-forward profile. It explodes with aromas of dark cherry preserves, warm plum, and baking spices, while the palate is round and juicy. A mix of Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah creates a layered mouthfeel with fine-grained tannins and enough acidity to maintain balance and drinkability.

Criss Cross California Old Vine Zinfandel Sourced primarily from mature vines in Lodi, this Zinfandel is bold and deeply expressive with primary notes of ripe Bing cherry and Damson plum. The nose is accented by cinnamon and vanilla, leading into a palate characterized by raspberry, orange cream, and black pepper. The finish is long and slightly smoky, featuring sweet, juicy tannins that emphasize the intensity and character of California's older viticultural sites.

Carol Shelton Wines Wild Thing Zinfandel Named for its uninoculated "wild" yeast fermentation, this Mendocino County Zinfandel is primarily sourced from 60-year-old vines. It features complex aromas of black cherry, ripe plum, and raspberry combined with a hint of cigar box and vanilla-oak spice. The palate is creamy and round, showcasing lush jammy fruit, huckleberry coulis, and allspice that carry through to a long, zesty finish marked by a distinct briary structure.

Marietta Cellars OVR Lot 75 As a multi-vintage field blend that Marietta has produced since the 1980s, Lot 75 maintains a reputation for consistency and exceptional value. The wine opens with bright plum fruit and raspberry candy, evolving into a darker profile of briar patch and black tea. It is medium-bodied and energetic, offering velvety tannins and an understated, earth-laced finish that makes it a versatile choice for a wide range of occasions.
