Cabernet Sampler #1 - Our Best-selling Cabs from Around The World

$143 Value, Sampler Price $110

Cabernet Sauvignon is the world's most famous and popular red wine grape and is planted in every grape growing region warm enough for it to ripen.  That means that there almost endless variations and expressions of the grape for us to explore and enjoy.    To help us celebrate Taylor's Cabernet Sauvignon Month, we've assembled 6 of our best-selling Cabs from around the world and boxed them up at an incredible price.

Spain - Chateldon by Pinord -  Opens with an intense bouquet of ripe red fruits, intermingled with subtle hints of vanilla and spice derived from its time spent aging in oak barrels.   Full-bodied but not overly so, this refined red wine unfolds layers of rich flavors that mirror its aromatic complexity. The palate is greeted by a harmonious blend of dark fruit flavors complemented by nuances of chocolate and tobacco. The robust structure is balanced by moderate acidity and well-integrated tannins that contribute to a smooth mouthfeel.

North Coast, CA - Broadbent - Sourced from two vineyards in California’s North Coast, grapes (40% from Mendocino County and 60% for Lake County) were harvested in the cool early morning hours and were carefully sorted before undergoing a gentle destemming process. The fruit then underwent a cold soak to extract maximum color and flavor. Fermentation took place in small stainless steel tanks. Following fermentation, the wine was aged for 10 months, in a selection of 80% American and 20% French oak.  Ripe, dark-fruited character with notes of cloves, vanilla, cedar and hint of pine needles. Full-bodied, creamy and luscious, with fine tannins and a deep core of fruit in the middle with a long succulent finish.

Lodi, CA - Klinker Brick - Klinker Brick is owned by the Felten family who have been farming in the Lodi district for 5 generations.  Klinker Brick is most famous for their Old Vine Zins, but recently they upped their Cabernet game and the 2022 is absolutely stunning and a tremendous bargain.  On the nose, leather aromas are accompanied by hints of subtle baking spice and clove. You are greeted with notes of plum and cherry on the palate. Fully integrated and well balanced, this wine has great tannin with a long, lingering finish. - 93pts Wine Enthusiast

Australia - Shinas Estate "The Verdict"  - The fantastic wines from Australia's Shinas Estate have been absent from the Taylor's shelves for a while, so we're really excited that they're finally back in stock.  This has a dark plum color with a slight crimson hue. It showcases aromas of ripe blackberries, vanilla and dark chocolate leading into a palate packed with riveting flavors of black cherry, red plums, and ripe strawberries. With a solid-built frame of tannin and crisp acid, the wine manages to find balance with the equitable amount of plush texture.

Chile - Echeverria Limited Edition - Aromas of roast plum, blistered cherries, and roasted poblano pepper with a satiny, vibrant, fruity medium+ body and a peppery, elegant, long orange zest, black pepper, black cassis, spiced tea, mint, and dark chocolate finish with well-integrated tannins and moderate oak flavor. Very Bordeaux-ish in its elegance and complexity without the Bordeaux-like price you would have to pay for one of comparable quality. A lipsmacking Cabernet with a great balance of fruit, oak, and savory terroir.

Argentina - Marchiori & Barraud- Mendoza may be better known for one Bordeaux's other main varietals (Malbec of course), but not surprisingly Cabernet Sauvignon does extremely well there too. Boasting intense red color with a concentrated nose exploding with aromas of dark blackberries and cassis fruits. Juicy and fruity on the palate, with hints of coffee and leather from the oak. Full bodied, silky tannins and a long finish.
