Mosel Rieslings are famous for their backbone of blue slate minerality that shines through even the sweeter examples, but here we have another Dry/Trocken style example. Passed down through the generations, Karp-Schreiber estate has been family-owned since 1664, and is today owned and managed by “JJ” Jobst-Julius Karp since the recent retirement of his father in 2008. Notes of zesty lemon and lime waft from the nose of this vibrant Riesling. It’s a spine-tingling, juicy quaffer loaded with cutting white grapefruit and crystalline mineral tones. The finish is long, marked by a lacy veil of fresh fruit and a hint of musky floral perfume.
