Evolucio Furmint White Wine

The Evolúció project is crafted under the Love Over Money label in partnership with the Boutique Wine Collection, working alongside a historic, centuries-old estate in Hungary's premier Tokaj region. The initiative focuses on family-owned, estate-driven production that highlights indigenous European grape varieties while keeping exceptional value front and center. By sourcing fruit from vineyards rooted in complex volcanic soils—comprising basalt, loess, and rhyolite—the producer delivers a clean, modern expression of traditional Hungarian winemaking.

Furmint is Hungary's hallmark white grape variety, globally famous for driving the region's legendary, botrytis-affected sweet Tokaji Aszú wines. However, when harvested early and fermented dry in stainless steel, Furmint behaves much like a cross between Riesling and Chablis-style Chardonnay. The grape naturally retains electric acidity and a rich, textured palate, offering immense versatility that ranges from bone-dry, mineral-driven table wines to luscious dessert bottlings.

Pouring a pale straw hue, it opens with high-toned aromas of crisp green apple, juicy pear, white peach, and subtle lime blossom, backed by a wet-stone minerality. The palate is medium-bodied and energetic, where bright orchard fruit flavors are framed by persistent, mouthwatering acidity. 8 months aging in stainless steel preserves the pure fruit profile, leading into a crisp, refreshing finish defined by citrus zest and lingering flinty undertones.
