Tasting Notes
This Gran Reserva, produced by La Rioja Alta, is composed of 95% Tempranillo from Rodezno and 5% Graciano from Fuenmayor. It opens with aromas of ripe plum, blackberry, and cassis, interwoven with vanilla, cedar, and tobacco. On the palate, it reveals flavors of dried fruit, balsamic notes, leather, and subtle spice, balanced by fresh acidity and polished tannins. The wine is medium-bodied yet powerful, with a silky texture and a long, elegant finish that reflects both fruit purity and oak integration. Its complexity makes it an ideal partner for roasted lamb, Iberian pork, or beef tenderloin, while its earthy undertones pair beautifully with mushroom dishes, aged Manchego cheese, and hearty stews. It also complements Mediterranean fare such as grilled vegetables and paella, where its balance of fruit and savory notes enhances the richness of the food.
