Tasting Notes

This vintage is composed of 76% Zinfandel, 14% Petite Sirah, 7% Carignane, 2% Alicante Bouschet, and 1% Mataro, organically grown in Sonoma’s Dry Creek Valley. It opens with aromas of raspberry, blackberry, and black cherry, accented by pepper, licorice, and a touch of vanilla. On the palate, flavors of plum, cassis, and dark cherry unfold with layers of garrigue, black tea, and baking spice, supported by supple tannins and vibrant acidity. The wine is full-bodied yet balanced, with minerality and freshness that carry through to a long, layered finish. Its bold character makes it an excellent partner for grilled lamb chops, braised short ribs, or hearty beef stew, while its nuanced spice and acidity also complement Mediterranean fare such as herb-roasted chicken, ratatouille, or aged cheeses like Pecorino and Manchego. The interplay of fruit, oak, and savory notes ensures versatility across both rustic and refined dishes.
