Great Value Whites Mixed Case – April/May 2025
$235 value for just $150
A few bucks more than than most of our Great Value Mixed Whites cases, but there's some really fantastic wines in here that make this one of the best Value Whites cases we've ever offered.
La Nerthe "Les Cassagnes" Cotes du Rhone Blanc (France) - Fruit for this amazing Rhone Blanc come from one of these recent additions to the estate, the high altitude Domaine de la Renjarde vineyard. The certified organic vineyard is planted to Marsanne, Roussanne, Grenache Blanc and Viognier for the white varietals that comprise this bottling. "Aromas of fresh lemons, dried leaves. fennel and wildflowers on the nose. It’s medium-bodied with a fresh core of yellow fruit mingling with the herbs. There is volume and a well-rounded texture on the mid-palate and onto the flavorful finish, with a touch of anise spice. - 92pts James Suckling"
Sartarelli Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico (Italy) - Pale straw color with classic greenish nuances. Medium-plus aromas of arugula, grass, sassafras root, white peach, citrus lemon-lime, minerals, mixed herbs, and hawthorn. Continuing to the palate, additional flavors of prickly pear, grapefruit, melon, lemongrass, dried herbs, savory spice. Dry wine with medium-plus acidity and body giving the level of complex evolving flavors that intensely swirl around. It all culminates in a medium-plus finish that has a classic slight bitter almond finish.
Paul Buisse Muscadet Sevre et Maine Sur Lie (France) - Warm weather means trips to be beach and along with Picpoul, Muscadet is one of our favorite seaside and seafood sippers. Muscadet is a dry white wine from the Loire Valley region in France and is named for the area the wine is grown. The area is in the most westerly region of the Loire, on the Atlantic coast of Brittany, and is the largest white wine appellation in France. It's also important to not lump Muscadet in with other similarly name wines with Musc... in the varietal (Muscat, Muscadelle, Muscadine or Moscato). Muscadet is made from the Melon de Bourgogne grape and bears little resemblance to those other wines.
The Paul Buisse Muscadet is a dry, crisp and smooth French white wine with expressive notes of nashi pear, cherry blossom, and acacia. It also has hints of rock and forest floor, giving it a refreshing and lively character.
Isle Saint Pierre Blanc (France) - Isle Saint-Pierre is a small island in the middle of the Rhône River 25 km south of Arles. Parisian wine merchant Pierre Chassaing founded this domaine in 1927. Today, third-generation vigneron Julien Henry and his flock of 200 sheep organically tend the vineyards. An unoaked blend of Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Muscat, Vermentino this lively, vibrant quaffer that over delivers at every turn. A delicious, easy-drinking “bistro-style” wine that offers a bright, citrus-driven profile, with notes of lemon, green apple, and pear, complemented by subtle floral hints. The palate is crisp and lively, with a balanced acidity that enhances its freshness. Some tasters also detect a touch of minerality, adding depth to its clean finish.
