Monte Tondo 2017 Amarone della Valpolicella

With their original property in the Soave district of the Veneto, the Magnabosco family is primarily known for their fantastic white wines.  A few years ago the family purchased vineyards on the other side of the hill that separates Soave from Valpolicella in order to start producing red wines.  The reds are produced with the same dedication to quality and organic, sustainable farming practices.

The intensely fruity bouquet of cherry and dried plum is almost Port-like with a floral aroma of dried flowers and a hint of sweet spices.  On the palate it is simply smooth and captivating with an extremely elegant yet full-body and long finish. In the mouth, it is redolent of ripe cherries, cassis and prunes; hints of milk chocolate, rhubarb and balsamic mentholated tobacco also come through, creating an exquisitely refined, harmonious and elegant bouquet.
