Winemaker Antonio Lamona is the son of a grape grower and is himself a farmer at heart - down to earth, humble and deeply invested not only in his wines but in the land upon which his vines grow, which have been farmed entirely organically since the late 1960s. He is quoted as saying, “I would rather forgo an entire vintage than put man-made pesticides in my soil.” La Querica's Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Riserva is medium-bodied with velvety tannins and packed with notes of deep plum, blackberry, wild cherry, cocoa and spice, with touches of game and dried florals.
