The J. Bucher 2022 Grenache from the Russian River Valley is a perfumed and expressive red that captures the elegance of Sonoma County’s cool-climate Grenache. Aged for 14 months in a mix of one- to three-year-old French oak barrels, it opens with refined aromas of ripe cherry, red plum, toasty oak, and subtle hints of orange zest and cracked pepper. The palate is lively and layered, offering a vibrant blend of strawberry, cranberry, cherry, and zesty raspberry, lightly dusted with brown spices. Midway through, notes of dried savory herbs, crushed stone, and red licorice emerge, adding depth and intrigue to its lingering finish.
