Gravel Bar takes its name from the Missoula Floods: for more than twenty centuries, torrential floodwaters from melting ice-age glaciers sculpted eastern Washington’s Columbia Valley, leaving deep deposits of sandy, rocky, alluvial soils in their wake. Today, along the Columbia River, broad plains of ancient sediment constitute one of the world’s finest wine grape growing regions. We're loving the whites coming out of Washington state of late, and Washington Chardonnays are some of our best sellers. The Gravel Bar is dynamite, and a helluva deal for its price tag. Look for notes of yellow apple, bosch pear, pineapple citrus, and vanilla spice from barrel fermentation in French oak.
