Barcava Cava Brut

Barcava is produced by Cavas Masachs, a family-run estate located in the Penedès region of Spain (specifically in Torrelles de Foix) where they have been perfecting the art of sparkling wine for four generations. The Barcava Brut is a custom cuvée rather than a simple relabeling of one of their standard retail products. While it shares the same high-quality foundation as the estate’s primary lines—such as the Josep Masachs Brut or the Mas Fi—it was specifically developed as a private label for the country's most popular Spanish themed wine bar/restaurants to meet a precise flavor profile. This means the blend of the three grape varieties and the dosage levels were tailored to create a "gastronomic" Cava that is balanced enough to be poured by the glass in a high-end restaurant setting while remaining crisp enough for food pairing.  Aged on the lees for a minimum of twelve months—exceeding the legal requirement for standard Cava—this Brut displays a sophisticated balance of crisp Granny Smith apple and citrus zest, rounded out by a subtle, creamy complexity reminiscent of fresh-baked bread.
