This wine pours an intense ruby color and opens with a sensational bouquet of dried violet, black cherry, fresh herbs, and cocoa powder. The palate is generous and round, showcasing ripe black plums, cherries, and blackberries, wrapped in soft, velvety tannins that create a balanced mid-palate and a lingering finish of dark berries and black licorice. Crafted from 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot, and 6% Cabernet Franc, sourced from vineyards between 1,500 and 3,200 feet in elevation, it reflects the rugged beauty and complexity of the Sierra Foothills. Its structure and depth make it a perfect match for grilled ribeye, braised short ribs, mushroom stroganoff, or aged cheddar, while its brightness and finesse also complement herb-roasted lamb or lentil stew.
