Tasting Notes

The 2022 vintage of Château Mongravey Margaux presents an intense deep purple robe and a captivating nose of cassis, ripe raspberries, and crushed plum, accented by notes of vanilla, espresso, and subtle grilled toast. On the palate, it is both lush and structured, offering smooth tannins, ripe fig and cocoa flavors, and a long, elegant finish that reflects the finesse of Margaux terroir. This Bordeaux blend, composed of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and a touch of Cabernet Franc, balances richness with freshness, making it versatile at the table. It pairs beautifully with classic French cuisine such as duck breast with cherry reduction, beef tenderloin with truffle sauce, or roasted lamb with rosemary. Its depth also complements earthy dishes like mushroom risotto or braised short ribs, while the wine’s perfumed edge and polished tannins make it an excellent match for aged cheeses such as Comté or Gruyère.
