Underground Wine Project is a collaboration between Washington wine makers Mark McNeilly (Mark Ryan Winery) and Trey Busch (Sleight of Hand Cellars). Mark and Trey are close friends of nearly 14 years and have both have launched successful wineries in their respective parts of Washington State. In 2009, the pair released their first collaboration wine, Idle Hands. With only 100 cases produced, Idle Hands quickly became a cult favorite; the successful launch was the impetus for what would soon become the Underground Wine Project.
Ripe notes of bing cherries, cola, and raspberry liqueur intermix nicely with subtle notes of vanilla from barrel aging. Full bodied and lush in texture, with more red fruits and the classic peppery spicy, note you typically find in Syrah. Drink now through 2022.
