Without being brooding and over-oaked (11 months in 70% new French), this gently proclaims its pedigree. Plenty of currant, raspberry, cherry notes interlaced with a lively palate of old world spice, mandarin and leather tones. Full, smooth palate with proper acidity and tannins.
