Made from the Domaine’s oldest vines, some of which are 85 years old, Pouilly-Fuissé ‘Vieilles Vignes’ is patiently matured in barrel for 11 to 12 months to bring out the essence of the terroir. On the nose, it is intense and complex, with intermingling notes of cumin, pear, grilled hazelnuts and white flowers. The attack is oily and peppery and soon accompanied by notes of apple and candied grapefruit. There is a nice tension on the finish with hints of toast and a touch of pear eau de vie. Just 7 cases of this amazing Chardonnay have been allocated for NC.
