Bledsoe Family 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon
In 2007, after Drew's retirement from the NFL he returned home to the Walla Walla region of Washington state and the Bledsoe family planted their first vineyard, McQueen Vineyard. Next they launched Doubleback, an estate focused winery that produces world-class Cabernet Sauvignon from the Walla Walla Valley, Drew’s hometown. It has now been more than ten years since Drew and Maura set out on this immensely rewarding adventure and their unwavering enthusiasm for the Walla Walla Valley, they have made the decision to create Bledsoe Family Winery and Bledsoe/McDaniels sister projects to Doubleback.
97pts Decanter, 92+ Parker
The 2020 Walla Walla Cabnernet is sourced from warmer sites in Walla Walla, with the core coming from the Bledsoe Estate's Bob Healy Vineyard. This is just the 5th release of the Bledsoe Family Cab, and it has already established itself as one of the state's top bottlings, with the 2020 garnering an impressive 97 point score from Decanter Magazine.
"The 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon is made from 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Merlot, 7% Malbec and 6% Petit Verdot. The nose bursts with bright red confectionery fruit aromas and succulent, plump cherry tones with dusty florals. Medium to full-bodied, the wine shines with purity and freshness on the palate and ends with a spicy, food-friendly finish. It's a fantastic wine that spent 18 months in 45% new French barrels. - Parker's Wine Advocate"
