Auvigue 2020 "Les Villages" Pouilly-Fuisse

The Auvigue family has been working its vineyard for generations, closely following traditional Burgundy methods. The grapes come from family estates or are carefully selected from the best areas of the Pouilly Fuisse, Saint Veran and Macon appellations. They strive to allow each parcel to remain true to itself, and Jean-Pierre and Michel Auvigue always adapt the vinification process to the climate, but here their wine blended from their holdings in the villages throughout the Pouilly-Fuisse district is a wonderful example of disparate puzzle pieces being assembled into a glorious and complete picture.

A decadent golden green color, this wine charms with delicate aromas of orange peel and spice. Creamy in texture, this white evokes peach, floral and pastry aromas and flavors. Beautifully balanced, full bodied, rich and round with notes of hazelnut and white flower unfolding gracefully to a long citrus and mineral-infused aftertaste. Very approachable now, but should develop over the next decade, too.
