Podere Ruggeri Corsini 2022 Dolcetto d'Alba

Podere Ruggeri Corsini was founded in 1995 when Loredana Addari and Nicola Argamante, both specialized in viticulture and oenology, left city life to purchase a small estate in the Corsini hamlet of Monforte d’Alba. The name pays homage to both the location and Nicola's mother, Ruggeri, whose support helped launch the project. Since its inception, the estate has remained committed to a philosophy of sustainability and precision. They utilize solar panels, natural wastewater purification, and lightweight bottles, and they have significantly reduced chemical treatments in the vineyard. While they have expanded into international varieties over the decades, their identity remains rooted in the traditional Langhe staples: Dolcetto, Barbera, and Barolo.

The wine pours a brilliant ruby red with distinct violet reflections. The bouquet is highly fragrant and expressive, dominated by rich black cherry, licorice, and subtle spice notes, alongside a delicate floral perfume reminiscent of dried wildflowers. On the palate, it is dry, harmonious, and remarkably fresh. The 2022 vintage displays a "chewy" texture with plenty of red fruit concentration, supported by stony, pleasant tannins and a savory, ferrous minerality. The finish is long and clean, leaving a signature lingering aroma of tangy bitter almond that is quintessential for high-quality Dolcetto from this sub-region.
