Franz Etz 2021 Gruner Veltliner (1 Liter)

The Etz estate consists of 30 hectares of vineyards in the Kamptal region of Austria, and are known for producing exceptional Grüner Veltliner. Franz Etz, the proprietor of the estate, gained international recognition when he bested 600 other Grüner Veltliners in a blind tasting competition by 14 of the world's top sommeliers. After, he created a special one-liter bottling of his fruit, called Grüner, for the U.S. market.

This 100% Grüner Veltliner is a light, easy drinking wine reminiscent of the first days of spring: green, energetic and fresh. In the glass the wine displays a light lemon in color with green highlights. The nose showcases a distinct mineral tone with notes of white pepper, stone fruit and melon. The palate is broad and thirst-quenching with layers of fruit flavors balanced by a lively minerality that cascade into an impactful finish. Enjoy with a plate of farm-fresh, raw vegetables served alongside a selection of artisanal cured meats or breaded and fried chicken cutlets.
