Our Great Value Mixed Cases are back!
This latest, Spring 2021 Edition is a fun blend of classic varietals and regions plus a couple off the beaten path grapes & regions that we think you'll enjoy exploring.
The mixed case includes 2 bottles each wine:
Terre Meridione Grillo (Italy) - Grillo DOC is gaining popularity as one of the new must-try Italian whites and for good reason. Indigenous to Sicily where the hot maritime climate is perfect for the grapes’ fresh and fruity verve. This Grillo DOC Sicilia is a delightful expression of the grape with its vivid aroma and broad, persistent fresh fruit taste with notes of apricot and citrus fruit.
EQ Sauvignon Blanc (Chile) - Pale yellow color with delicate green hues. The complex nose is dominated by citrus and tropical aromas like mango, papaya and grapefruit peel, with nuances of light herbal notes and the typical crispness that this variety shows in coastal cool climates. The palate is fresh and vivid, crisp and concentrated. Very fruity, with a salty mineral dimension leading to a lingering finish.
Sofos White (Greece) - A pretty, pale khaki color Sofos (The Wise One) is a blend of unoaked Moschofilero and Chardonnay. Aromas of ripe apricot, honey, cantaloupe, and white peppercorn with a satiny, tangy, dryish light body and a smooth, compelling, medium-length citron, lemon spritz, and almond finish. A delicious warm-weather white that will pair like a dream with shellfish; refreshing, mineral-focused, and effortlessly drinkable. Organic and naturally produced, vegan friendly.
Granza Verdejo (Spain) - Tropical mango, melon, citrus and peach-pit aromas are typical for Verdejo. Flavors of citrus peel and stone-fruit pits follow the nose, while this organic-grape offering is mildly green on a light fresh finish.
Caligiore Torrontes (Argentina) - Most of us think of red wine (usually Malbec) when we think of Mendoza but they are making huge progress in the production of their white wine and Torrontes is a grape variety that they are vehemently working with and the results are amazing. It has become known as Argentina’s signature white grape variety and it is unique, complex, extremely food friendly and best of all... very affordable!
Quite unique stylistically and very aromatic with a nose of jasmine, apricot and honeysuckle followed by a dry palate with passion fruit, honeyed lemon and orchard fruits, this is a wine that can stand up to so many different foods.
Tinto Rey Rose (California) - The 2020 Tinto Rey Rosé is a blend of Matchbook Estate Grown Tempranillo, Tannat and Verdejo. This wine is unique because it was 100% co-fermented, meaning all three varietals were crushed and fermented together for better flavor integration. The delicate peach color and complex flavors of the 2020 Tinto Rey Rosé are the result of 100% co-fermentation of Tempranillo, Tannat and Verdejo. Intense aromas of peach, nectarine and key lime lead to full flavors of strawberry, cream soda, sassafras and tangerine. There is a satisfying weight to the wine that balances the zip of fresh fruit flavors. The crisp, clean finish sets up the palate for another delicious sip.
