Chateau D'Angles Rose (France) - In June 2015, La Clape became the Languedoc’s first "Appellation Communale". This latest success is however, only the most recent chapter in a winemaking history that dates back 2,000 years! Julius Cesar gifted this rocky outcrop overlooking the Mediterranean to his most favored legionnaires as a reward and the Roman soldiers of the 10th Legion were thus the first to plant vines on the La Clape headland. Eric Fabre’s wealth of winemaking/winegrowing experience, including eight years as technical director at Château Lafite Rothschild led him to this historic wine region when it was time to establish his own label. Brilliant, light pink color. Intense and complex nose of white flowers and fruits, citrus fruits and also small fresh red berries aromas. Plentiful mouth with a long and complex aromatic composition balanced by a mineral freshness.
Bloem Chenin Viognier (South Africa) - Chenin Blanc is one of the oldest & most widely-planted grape varieties in South Africa. This fruitful wine is blended with Viognier to add weight and earthiness. Citrus blossom and stone fruit aromas are followed by creamy peach flavors and a crisp finish.
The South African winelands lie at the heart of the Cape Floral Kingdom, the smallest but most biodiverse of the world's six floral kingdoms. Bloem, derived from the Dutch word for "flower", captures the essence of this unique and dynamic ecosystem with refreshing fruit aromas, clean, creamy flavors, and a hint of exotic spice.
Domaine Du Prince Blanc (France) - Domaine du Prince is a high quality cooperative located in Nimes, in the far western reaches of the Southern Rhone. Composed of roughly 40 small growers, the coop enjoys an enviable reputation both at home and beyond. It's interesting to note that like the similarly styled blends of Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc, White Costieres de Nimes only accounts for 4% of production in the AOC (and this one if a fraction of the cost!).
A classic Rhone varietal blend of Grenache Blanc, Marsanne and Roussanne from the town of de Nimes. Aromas showing Ample notes of tangerine, crushed rocks, flowers and crisp white peach soar from the glass of this layered, medium-bodied, classy and lengthy white that has both freshness and richness.
Orsino Garganega Pinot Grigio (Italy) - A big hit a couple of years ago, the Orsino white blend from the Garda district of Italy is back. The wines of Garda come from the hilly shores surrounding the lake from which the area takes it's name, Lake Garda, which separates the famous regions of Veneto and Lombardy. Though Pinot Grigio and Garganega are usually typified by their tart apple and lemon flavors, this one adds sprightly lime and almond flavors evoking tropical fruit cocktail, and almond meringue with lemon sherbet overtones.
Bodegas Care Sobre Lias (Spain) - The Care Blanco Sobre Lias is a white wine made from a blend of mostly Garnacha Blanca with a little Chardonnay grapes. It has a bright pale yellow color with greenish reflections, which denote its youth. The nose is fresh, clean, and intense, with fruity aromas of green apple, pineapple, and citrus. On the palate, the fruit remains present and is in balance with the acidity, making for a tasty and great acid balance wine.
Helenental Midsommar Gruner Veltliner (Austria) - The Helenental Winery is located in the northern part of the Weinviertel region, in Röschitz. The company was first established in 1942 as a coop, but has been in private hands for a decade. Enjoy this Grüner by itself or add sparkling water to make a spritz. Welcome warm weather with Helenental's "Midsommar" Grüner Veltliner! The Midsommar offers an expressive nose of lemon, grapefruit, and white grape juice. On the palate, you’ll find green apple, grapefruit, and pear with a touch of white pepper. It has a light body and a refreshing acidity.
