TAYLOR’S WINE SHOP CARES ABOUT THE COMMUNITY AND LOVES TO GIVE BACK.
We believe it is important to not only give back to our local community but also create awareness through events and fundraisers to further support these charities and foundations. Two main charities we continuously support throughout the year are The Foundation of Hope and The Gail P. Cash Endowment Fund supporting the YMCA We Build People Program. Additionally we have helped to support other local charities including Operation North State, Veterans charities, Susan G. Komen for the Cure and donated over $25,000 annually to those causes.
THE FOUNDATION OF HOPE
Established in 1984, the Foundation of Hope for Research and Treatment of Mental Illness is a non-profit organization aimed at discovering the causes and potential cures for mental illness in order to develop effective means of treatment.
After Thad’s untimely passing in 1989, employees of restaurants established by Thad and Alice Eure united to start the annual Walk for Hope. The goal of the event, was to raise awareness of the Foundation’s mission and to help fund grants and projects that would lead to cutting edge treatments. Approximately 200 participants raised $30,000 at the premier walk stretching 12 miles between Thad and Alice’s first restaurant, the Angus Barn, and their last, 42nd Street Oyster Bar. Today, the annual Walk, held the second Sunday of each October, generates some 3,800 participants and raises $670,000.
In October of 1997, shortly after Alice’s death and just nine days before the 9th annual Walk, employees of the Angus Barn decided to rename the event in loving memory and in honor of both Thad and Alice. The event is now known as the Thad and Alice Eure Walk for Hope headed by Executive Director Shelley Eure Belk.
Taylor’s Wine Shop is proud to participate, sponsor and support these events with the Foundation of Hope including the Walk for Hope and the Evening of Hope. Taylor Cash also serves on the Board of Directors and hosts events including the annual BBQ fundraisers to raise money and continue to promote awareness for this cause.

THE GAIL P. CASH MEMORIAL FUND
In Loving Memory of Gail Cash, 1956-2011
The Gail Cash Memorial Endowment Fund to benefit the AE Finley YMCA
We Build People Campaign was established to continue her legacy in supporting this program and the fundamental beliefs on which it was founded. Gail and Taylor supported the YMCA for over 10 years, and for seven years they co-chaired the We Build People program which helped to raise over 4 million dollars. Together they made an impact on the community that they served.
From helping kids reach school system benchmarks, to equipping individuals to avoid chronic disease, to ensuring that all kids have a safe, nurturing place to play, the Y’s We Build People Annual Campaign helps us imagine more for our community. Gail was passionate about helping others, helping children in need and she was a provider. This fund was established so her legacy can continue to help those in need not only have the guidance to begin dreaming, but the support to help make their dreams come true.
