New Brews!

New Brews!

Check out some of the newest brews, in stock at Taylor’s Wine Shop this month!! Val-Dieu “Cuvee 800” Belgian Ale $12.99 750ml How many companies can you think of celebrating their 800th anniversary.  Val-Dieu has released this special brew to celebrate such a landmark.  A hoppier version of their classic Belgian, it’s a perfect combination of classic brewing flavor and technique tweaked for modern tastes. Stone Enjoy By 10.31.16 Tangerine IPA $17.99 6-pack The latest in Stone’s “Enjoy By” series is here.  The vibrant flavors are gloriously jam-packed using more than ten hop varietals and puréed tangerines to add a hop-pushing twist to this double IPA. Wicked Weed Bedeviled Golden Belgian Style Ale $10.99 4-pack The brewery says – “We really focused on making a dry champagne like finish to this beer. The Belgian yeast character is the star in this ale with peppery aromas backed with a dried citrus fruit character. This beer drinks like it is 6% ABV so be careful. The name is a nod to the great Belgian Golden Strong ale Duvel which means devil.” Duck Rabbit Marzen $11.99 6-pack Duck Rabbit’s take on the classic German “fest” style brew.  A little darker and hoppier than your typical Marzen or Oktoberfest beer but with the classic rich malty and fall spice notes. Fortnight Brewing 95X Double IPA $10.99 4-pack Cary’s Fortnight Brewing’s new 95X Double IPA is their latest experimental release, and it’s unique brewing technique seems to work quite well.  A collaboration with radio station 95X, the guys blast rock music at the fermentation tank during the brewing process and say that the sound...

Check out some of the NEW ARRIVALS this Fall at Taylor’s Wine Shop! ELEVEN ELEVEN WINES 2012 ESTATE CABERNET SAUVIGNON – $99.99 LAKI’S VINEYARD, OAK KNOLL, NAPA VALLEY – 90 Points – Wine Enthusiast,2/1/2016 BUY NOW “While soft and approachable, this wine also offers a density of black currant and cherry that gives significant power and juicy exuberance. Sizable tannins risk overtaking the fruit, but never do, with the oak imparting a jolt of smokiness on the finish.” – Virginie Boone Gold Medal, 2016 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition Tasting Notes: This Library Vintage of our Cabernet begins with a beautiful and wildly dark purple rim. Full force aromatics of camphor, crushed herbs, black cherry, rose, violet and cured game exude from the glass, building in volume to reveal nuances of olive, French oak and vanilla. The first sip is striking as you swirl the wine over your tongue. An exciting arrangement of flavors emerge including blueberry, chocolate, espresso and red hard candy. The tannins and acidity are perfectly balanced, and the complexity of the palate will only build over time. Enjoy now through 2029 and beyond. PRODUCTION: 856 CASES Eleven Eleven 2013 Chardonnay (Russian River Valley) – $44.99 93 Points, Wine Enthusiast: Lemon meringue and custard provide decadence to this vineyard-designated wine, the site planted to decades-old vines. Walk for Hope

It’s that time of year again! The 28th Annual Thad & Alice Eure Walk/Run for Hope for The Foundation of Hope is now live and accepting donations. Let’s raise some money together for the Research and Treatment of Mental Illness. You can also join us on October 9th, 2016 at 7:00am for the 28th Annual Walk for Hope which will be at The Angus Barn! Team Taylor’s will be out there and hope you will walk with us for this great cause. The Walk for Hope is an annual 5K/10K walk & run hosted by The Foundation of Hope for Research & Treatment of Mental Illness. 100% of the money raised by participants DIRECTLY funds local mental health research at the UNC Neurosciences Hospital in Chapel Hill. A note from The Foundation of Hope: In 2015, walkers raised over $500,000 for the research and treatment of mental illness, and in 2016 we believe we can raise even more. People are starting to talk about mental health in America: more research projects are being funded. More people are seeking help. More disorders are being detected earlier, and more intervention methods are being adopted. People are talking – and we are listening. At The Foundation of Hope, we are proud to be a part of this new wave of mental health awareness. With YOUR help, we can continue to be a leading donor in mental health research. We can continue to fund projects that are leading to breakthroughs in treatment. And one day, we will fund a project that will lead to a...

Italian Wine Sale

August is all about Italian wines at Taylor’s.  Italy is the largest wine producer on the planet (or tied with France, or 2nd behind France, depending on who’s counting and the vintage) and is certainly one of our favorite “go to” wine regions for food friendly vino and all month long every Italian wine is on sale. Italian Wine Sale  10% off single bottles, 1-5   15% off when you buy 6 or more  Click below to shop our Italian Wine Sale online and enter promo code ITALY10 at checkout to save 10%! A Few Featured Wines from Italy: Bidoli 2015 Pinot Grigio $10.99 A staple since The Haw River Wine Man, JIm Stock first found this little, family owned winery on a trip to Italy and began importing their wines directly to North Carolina 20 years ago. Since then it has remained one of the best Pinot Grigio values around. It always amazes us when people come in and say they don’t like Pinot Grigio because it’s too sweet because they’ve only tried mass produced versions from grocery stores and pizza joints. Good Pinot Grigio is crisp and refreshing with lime citrus, tart apple and refreshing acidity, which is exactly what Bidoli delivers. Casa Contini 2013 Brindisi Riserva – Taylor’s: $14.99 Brindisi is one of the small DOCs located within Puglia, the heel of Italy’s boot. The brutish, dark skinned Negromaro grape makes this region’s best wines and that is true here with Casa Contini’s Riserva bottling. The Botter family tames the Negroamaro beast with small amounts of Malvasia Nera and Sangiovese along with liberal amounts of lavish...
