For the entire month of March we are taking an additional 20% off all bombers! Bombers are 22 oz. singles commonly used by a brewery to showcase a special or limited release beer. Rather than committing to a 6 pack, bombers are a great way to try something new. Larger than a single 12 oz. beer, they are easily shared. Yet smaller than a 40 oz. beer, they can be enjoyed alone. Most people associate this larger bottle with heavier styles of beer like porters and stouts or something that has been barrel aged. Nowadays breweries are using bombers as a format for all styles of beer!
These are some of the coolest ones we have available now in the shop:

CALIFORNIA CIDER COMPANY (SEBASTOPOL CA)
ACE SPACE BLOODY ORANGE CRAFT CIDER – ABV 6.9%
Available in 22 oz. bombers $6.99
We are one of the only shops around that carry the full selection of Ace ciders including both of their special release bombers. Ace Space has a semisweet apple backbone with a zesty blood orange flavor throughout. The blood orange flavor was chosen by Ace’s Facebook followers and dedicated to owner Jeffrey House’s wife, Angela Staines. The space theme and label serve as a gesture to Angela’s role as Brea Tonnika in the original 1977 Star Wars film, Episode IV: A New Hope. Look for her smoking a hookah pipe in the iconic scene where Han Solo meets Luke Skywalker for the first time in Chalmun’s Cantina!

WESTBROOK BREWING (MT. PLEASANT SC)
6TH ANNIVERSARY HAZELNUT CHOCOLATE IMPERIAL STOUT – ABV 10%
Available in 22 oz. bombers $11.99
Since their first birthday stout was released in 2011, every year Westbrook has brewed a special one time release stout to celebrate the years the brewery has been active. For their 6th anniversary they have created a chocolate dream. This Imperial is aged on cocoa nibs, roasted hazelnuts, and vanilla beans. Exactly what you would need from a dessert beer. It pour a thick jet black and has a strong toasty chocolate and hazelnut aroma. Full bodied and a richness that pairs great with something sweet. We suggest chocolate cake and strawberries.

UNKNOWN BREWING (CHARLOTTE NC)
RISE AGAINST CLOWNS AMERICAN WILD ALE – ABV 6.6%
Available in 22 oz. bombers $12.99
Unknown Brewing, Charlotte NC in collaboration with 7venth Sun Brewing, Dunedin FL ! Unknown, like their name suggests, takes a lot of risks with using experimental and less well known ingredients to make their beers. This wild ale is no exception. It’s brewed with blood orange and cotton candy and fermented using only brettanomyces. Seems like an odd combination but the execution is pretty successful. The cotton candy leaves a subtle vanilla finish that complements the citrusy tartness of the blood orange. It’s been compared to an orange creamsicle and we couldn’t agree more. The brew was ultimately decided by owner and brewmaster of Unknown, Brad Shell, who really hates clowns. The label, a clown being surrounded by kids wielding machetes, just adds an extra layer of creativity to this unique ale.

TRIPLE C BREWING (CHARLOTTE NC)
CHOCOLATE COVERED PRETZEL STOUT – ABV 9.2%
Available in 22 oz. bombers $17.99
The latest beers to come out of Triple C’s barrel program, Chocolate Covered Pretzel Stout is now available in 3 flavors and we have ‘em all here at Taylor’s! Each flavor (regular, mint, and coconut) replicate classic dessert pairings any chocolate lover can appreciate. Although literal pretzels are not actually present in these beers, the toasted bready flavor of a pretzel is mimicked by a thorough grain bill and the addition of salt throughout the brewing process. Each beer was then aged in bourbon barrels adding another level of complexity. The roasted malt is present in each sip and further enhanced by warm vanilla and chocolate notes. Coconut takes these flavors to another level without overpowering the salty pretzel. The mint version is all about the aroma of the beer with a subtle taste taken from the introduction of spearmint and a tiny bit of peppermint to the brew.
